This unit provides services, free of charge, to facilitate written and spoken communication between agency staff and DSS clients who communicate with a language other than English, including the hearing-impaired. These services protect the rights of persons who have Limited English Proficiency (LEP), and address the compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which protects the LEP against discrimination based on their National Origin.
