The Union County Board of Commissioners have approved a fee increase for the Food Service Plan Review and Temporary Food Establishment permits. Effective February 15, 2010. (See Fee Schedules under Resources for Food, Lodging, and Institutions Fee Schedule)
The Food, Lodging, and Institutions Section protects public health through maintaining standards, review of plans and regulating activities for food handling establishments, lodging establishments, and institutions.
The Food Program participates in the FDA Partnership for Food Protection Workgroup, which has a Vision for an Integrated Food Safety System.

Temporary Food Establishments These facilities are only open for a limited period of time or only at certain times of the year. If you plan to open a temporary food establishment, you must complete the coordinator's application. Additionally, be sure to read the rules governing these establishments.
Institutions Institutions are those facilities considered to be hospitals, nursing/rest homes, residential care and educational facilities.
Lodging Lodging establishments are places providing lodging accommodations for pay. These include hotels, motels, inns and some homes.
